Microneedling is proven and safe, and because it is only minimally invasive and is non-ablative it carries very little risk of adverse reactions.
However, to ensure that your skin heals as quickly and smoothly as possible it should be in a healthy condition prior to your treatment and you need to follow the post-care advice you are given carefully.
Immediately afterwards
Your skin will appear as though you have experienced a mild sunburn and will be red and may feel tight and itchy.
Moisturiser, not makeup
You should ensure that you keep your skin moisturised to maintain its barrier function, but to avoid infection you should not use any make-up or perfumed products on your skin for a minimum of 24-48 hours.
SPF, SPF, SPF….
You should always use SPF. After Microneedling, your practitioner may advise the use of a tinted SPF product especially designed for use on post-procedural skin if appropriate. We can supply this if required.
