Description
Chemical peels are hugely popular, with good reason.
When considering one, it makes sense to talk it over with someone knowledgeable.
Choice of peel‡
We use clinically-proven peels from Mesoestetic, Clinicare, and Cosmedix which work, and don’t come with a silly price tag.
So depending on your concerns we may use Glycolic acid, Salicylic acid, Lactic acid or Mandelic based acid peels, enzyme peels, or a combination.
These vary in strength and specific effect. You can rely on us to work with you to select the most appropriate choice for your skin and its condition to help you get the results that you want.
Procedure and applicability
The selected peel will be combined with a masque and serum to achieve optimum results.
- Incredible results from a bespoke acne treatment for this lady!
- Acne and pigmentation improvements after 3 peels (results will vary)
- result of 3 monthly peels (results will vary)
- 2 weeks after single peel (results will vary)
Which peel is best?
The only answer is “it depends”. We’ll work with you to determine the most appropriate peel for your unique skin type.
We use a range of single and blended Cosmeceutical grade AHA and BHA epidermal peels from Clinicare, Mesoestetic, and Cosmedix.
We can’t advise about specific results until we’ve assessed you, as so much depends on your particular skin conditions. However we have access to a wide range of different peel types that work in the skin in different ways, and can generally find the right one for you.
What are peels good for?
Unlike simple physical exfoliation, removal of dead skin cells by breaking the cellular bonds has benefits for:
- Rosacea
- fine lines
- wrinkles
- blemishes
- treating acne and acne scarring
- pigmentation irregularities & age spots
For sensitive skins, we have both
Retinol-based non-aggressive peels, that use a complex of encapsulated Retinol in combination with antioxidants, Alpha Hydroxy Acids and anti-inflammatory ingredients
non-acid peels.
How many peel sessions will I need?
A single skin peeling session can provide fantastic results as a one-off treatment to resurface and brighten the skin.
However, a series of treatments (alone, or as part of a corrective programme in combination with other advanced skin procedures), can address a number of skin concerns, such as Rosacea, fine lines, wrinkles, acne, scarring and pigmentation irregularities.
Peels are not just for use on the face!
Many areas of the body will also benefit, including the back, neck, chest. Peels are also popular for sun-damaged hands.
Discuss it with us!
If you have a skin concern you would like to address then consider arranging an Advanced Skin Consultation. This will allow us to identify the root cause of the problem and advise a suitable corrective treatment plan.
NOTES:
† Darker skins – Fitzpatrick IV-VI, require a slightly longer pre-peel conditioning to ensure optimal results from treatment and reduce risk of PIH.
‡ Some specific peels carry a small surcharge, due to the cost of ingredients
Safety note:
These formulations are stronger than cosmetic grade acid peels. It is important to have a free sensitivity test a week prior to the treatment..
